A Complete Shading Package for an Exemplar School
Gateway to the Valleys School was a £39 million exemplar project based on collaboration, integrated teams and sustainable construction. Solar worked with the council, architect and main contractor to provide different shading solutions for classrooms, workshops, offices, doors and community spaces.

How the Project Came Together
Classrooms and Workshops
System 40 roller blinds were installed in classrooms and college workshop areas to provide practical, dependable light control.
Staff Offices
Vertical louvre blinds gave staff flexible control of daylight while also providing privacy when required.
Window Film
Window film was applied to selected windows and doors to reflect light and maintain privacy without compromising the building design.
Designed for the Community
The school achieved an excellent BREEAM rating and was planned as a community hub, making sustainability and long-term local benefit central to the project.
